Stanton defeats East Mills

 

Malvern Iowa, June 17, 2008

 

Stanton defeated East Mills 7-2 Tuesday night to swipe the two game series.  Stanton who owns the best record in the Corner Conference has only lost 1 game in conference play.  Stanton pitchers held East Mills hitters to only 3 hits.

 

“You never feel good about a loss, but after the games against Sidney last night I felt we played harder and with more focus tonight,” said Coach Green.  “Even though we committed 6 errors in this game it had a better feel to it than both of the games we played last night.”

 

Alan Alger was 1 for 3, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 3 put outs, 1 error

Jake Sneed was 0 for 4, scored 1 run, reached on error, stole 1 base, 2 assists, 1 error

Levi Helbling was 0 for 1, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 1 SAC, stole 1 base, 2 putouts, 1 assist, 1 error

Brett Tornquist was 0 for 3, 1 BB, stole 1 base, 2 putouts

Matt Miller was 0 for 2, 1 BB, 2 K’s, 3 putouts

Shawn Blackman was 1 for 3, 1 BB, stole 1 base, 1 putout, 1 error

John Walker was 0 for 4, 1 BB, reached on error, 2 K’s, 1 putout

Jake Bolton was 0 for 1, reached on error, 2 K’s, 1 BB, 1 error

Jake Doyle was 1 for 4, 1 putout

Joe Morgan was 0 for 1, scored a run, reached on error, 1 K, 1 error
